So today I did something I never, ever do. I wagged! I played hooky. I skipped work. I took time out from my never ending ‘to do’ list and I went for a walk. On the beach. With my sister. Then we swam. And stopped for coffee. Oh and it was glorious!
Yes, I felt guilty. Yes, I did keep thinking of all the things I should be doing. Yes, I did sneak my cozzie into my bag this morning so the kids wouldn’t see. Yes, I felt like I had wasted most of the morning. BUT IT WAS SOOOOO WORTH IT! I came back to my desk happy and re-invigorated. I felt grounded, refreshed and inspired by the beautiful world around me. I was thankful to share a morning with my sister in the amazing area we get to call home and I asked myself why I don’t do it more often. We get so caught up in what we think ‘needs’ to be done that the days roll into weeks, then months and before we know it, we are another year older, and our children are another year older.
So, today was a good day. I got out in the fresh air, exercised, spent time with my sister, bounced business ideas off her and got my caffeine fix. WIN WIN!
Until next time …
