When planning a celebration, inspiration can be taken from anywhere in the world around us – plants, the sky or ocean, food or drinks, a favourite book, animals and birds to name a few. In this case, the inspiration was the tropical toucan and the brief was to create a kid’s party inspired by this amazing bird, but without actually featuring it.
Styled by Elizabeth Kelly of ELK Prints and beautifully photographed by Captured by Kirri, the photo shoot was a collaboration between Life’s Little Celebrations partners for Confetti Fair magazine (which you can purchase here). Taking her inspiration from “the bright tropical colours of the toucans beak (yellows, oranges and reds) and a backdrop of black, white and tropical greens (representing the toucans body and the green jungle habitat it occupies),” Elizabeth, as you can see from the images, has absolutely nailed the brief!
Immediately you are transported to the tropics with visions of fruit, lush floral arrangements, bright and vibrant colours and accents of gold adding an element of sophistication. Although this party was styled for a 10 year old celebration, I can see this theme being perfect for a grown up, poolside, summer soiree.
